He Wired $39K for a Corvette… Then the Car Disappeared!

According to MotorBiscuit, Tennessee Corvette enthusiast Randall Durham found a 2022 Corvette Stingray on an online auction site. After researching the company and seeing mostly five-star reviews, he won the Corvette for $38,800, completed the paperwork, wired the money, and was given a pickup code for a storage facility in Florida.

There was just one big problem.

When he arrived, the Corvette wasn’t there.

Durham says his calls eventually went unanswered and his number was blocked. Then he discovered something even more surprising—the same Corvette, with the same VIN, had been listed for auction again, reportedly selling the second time for $61,200.

The company later promised Durham a $39,320 refund within 14 business days, but according to the original report, more than a month passed without the money being returned. Authorities, including the FBI, were reportedly notified.

It’s a good reminder for anyone buying a car online: verify the seller, the car, the VIN, and the wiring instructions before sending money.

Together, they’ll be a sight to behold.

One of the most iconic Shelbys of the muscle-car era is now live on Bring a Trailer!

This spectacular 1968 Shelby GT500KR Convertible is finished in factory-correct Acapulco Blue over Black and equipped with the highly desirable 4-speed manual transmission, one of only 267 produced with this combination.

The “KR” stood for King of the Road, and Ford gave it the muscle to back up the name. Under the hood is the legendary 428 Cobra Jet V8, creating one of the most memorable combinations of big-block power, open-air motoring, and unmistakable Shelby styling.

This example has undergone a comprehensive, high-quality restoration and is loaded with desirable equipment, including a power convertible top, power front disc brakes, power steering, Tilt-Away steering column, AM/FM radio, shoulder harnesses, and the GT, Interior Décor, and Visibility Groups.
