The C8 Z06 Convertible Will Pace the 107th Indianapolis 500

From our friends at Corvette Blogger

The Corvette Z06 Convertible Will Pace the 107th Indianapolis 500.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Chevrolet announced on Tuesday that the 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible will be pacing the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 28th, making it the 20th time a Corvette has led the field for the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing!”

“As we celebrate the rich history of the Corvette Pace Car at IMS, it’s amazing to see the evolution of these cars on and off the track,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles said. “The hardtop convertible on the 2023 Corvette Z06 is just another example of the Chevrolet innovation that translates from track to street.”

The Pace Car is finished in Red Mist Metallic with two-tone Jet Black and Sky Cool Gray interior with Red seat belts. The Pace Car features a unique graphics package, Tech Bronze forged aluminum wheels, and the car has Carbon Flash Black Nacelles and roof. The emergency track lights are built into the Convertible’s rear-facing nacelles.

“We are honored to be pacing the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 with the Corvette Z06 convertible,” Scott Bell, Global Chevrolet vice president said in a release. “Chevrolet and IndyCar share the same spirit of competition, and we are proud the Z06 will lead the pack across the bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.”

Conrad and Mark Wetterau

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Wetterau, a long-time car collector who had a close friendship with Corvette Mike in Anaheim, California.

Mark was a passionate and knowledgeable collector who had a love for cars that was matched only by his generosity and kind spirit. He was particularly fond of Corvettes, and his collection included some of the rarest and most sought-after models ever produced.

Mark’s relationship with Corvette Mike was one of mutual respect and admiration and his visits to the showroom and workshop were always enjoyed by the staff.

Although he is no longer with us, Mark’s legacy will live on through his family, friends, and all those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, dear Mark. You will be deeply missed.

1970 454/390hp Convertible
An amazing, original, 19k mile time machine!

Monza Red w/Black interior, 454/390hp, 4-speed manual.

This Monza Red Convertible is a truly special car. Somehow, it managed to survive 53 years in pristine, original condition, having only been driven 19k miles since it rolled out of St. Louis! One of the previous owners is a very good client of ours and a renown collector. He was the car’s caretaker for 40 years and Corvette Mike maintained it for him! The paint is very shiny, the interior shows little wear, the soft top still looks great, and it runs just like a 19k Corvette should . . . Excellent! Options include the #’s matching LS5 engine, mated to an M21 close ratio 4-spd. manual transmission, am/fm radio, power brakes, power steering, power windows and luggage rack.

She’s just waiting for the next caretaker to drive her home!

Comic of the Week

Some random thoughts

The first day one is a guest, the second a burden, and the third a pest.

I love mankind; it’s people I can’t stand.

I went window shopping today! I bought four windows.
