PEBBLE BEACH, CALIFORNIA (August 11, 2026)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Organizers of the Pebble Beach Tour d\u2019Elegance, scheduled for this Thursday, August 13, have modified the traditional route of the event to remain in Pebble Beach and Monterey.<\/p>\n Historically the Tour traces the scenic coast from Pebble Beach to Big Sur, traveling along portions of 17-Mile Drive and Highway 1.<\/p>\n Having closely monitored the still-growing Timber Fire and corresponding evacuations in Big Sur, and working on an ongoing basis with the California Highway Patrol, the Monterey County Sheriff\u2019s Office and CAL FIRE, Tour organizers decided to make a change. The decision was made to protect spectators and participants and give first responders space to conduct their essential work.<\/p>\n \u201cWe quickly came to this decision because we don\u2019t want to impact the efforts of firefighters in any way,\u201d said Pebble Beach Concours Chairman Sandra Button. \u201cAs a community event, we know that our gathering is only a part of all that is happening around us, and the safety of our community is of the utmost importance.\u201d<\/p>\n The Tour was added to the Concours in 1998 to prove that great cars still function. It also introduces Concours participants to the beauty of this place while enabling them to share their cars with people here.<\/p>\n \u201cOur entrants love the Tour and Big Sur and the community here,\u201d said Button. \u201cWe know they want to do what they can to support this community and protect this place.\u201d<\/p>\n Months of planning with local officials and community representatives go into the Tour, and that process is continuing now, with the safety of residents, first responders, guests and event participants at the forefront.<\/p>\n Despite the change in the route, much of the Tour remains the same, including the start\/finish line on Portola Road, near Concours Village, not far from The Lodge at Pebble Beach. Participating cars will begin to gather there about 7:00 am and will depart in two or three groups beginning at 9:30 am. The public is invited to help us send them off.<\/p>\n Amidst the Tour, participants compete for the Elegance in Motion Trophy to be awarded at the Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday, August 16. Cars that complete the Tour also gain an advantage in the Concours competition.
