According to sources familiar with the matter, the new tentative date for the start of regular production (SORP) for the Corvette E-Ray is set for Monday, November 27th, 2023. The SORP date was previously slated for Monday, October 23rd, but has since been pushed back.<\/p>\n

As anticipated, the 2024 Corvette Stingray production began on September 5th, 2023, and the 2024 Corvette Z06 started on October 2nd. Production of the 2024 Corvette Z06 got under way on October 2nd.<\/p>\n

1954 Corvette Resto-Mod<\/a><\/h3>\n

Custom built by GM excecutive!<\/a><\/p>\n

This awesome \u201954 was created by Darwin Clark, a retired GM executive of 45 years as VP General Manager of Industry Dealer Affairs. He had a long career of car collecting and restoring vintage GM automobiles. Darwin had a quest to build the ultimate 1954 Corvette, complete with an untouched original body and the perfect blend of power and handling. It was in 2001 that he purchased the vehicle to start his project. He chose the Newman car creation C4 chassis and components for the vehicle\u2019s foundation. The power plant was a 1998 LS1 Chevy small block. Accessory pulleys came from March performance, while the cooling was upgraded with a Be Cool radiator. A stainless steel exhaust system using 2 1\/2-inch tubing with Flowmaster mufflers allows this beauty to breathe with ease!. Replacing the original transmission with the 4L60E with a modified Lokar shifter, mated to an aluminum driveshaft. Ex-GM designer Steve Pasteiner, proprietor of Advanced Automotive Technologies in Rochester Hills, Michigan, carefully oversaw the complete and meticulous preparation for paint where the panel alignment was painstakingly gapped to 3\/16 of an inch of perfection.<\/p>\n

The seating position, most important because of a confined original cockpit, was addressed for comfort by dropping the seats downward and rearward to accommodate taller body types.<\/p>\n

The instrument cluster and gauges were updated using Auto Meter white-faced dials.<\/p>\n

Special styling cues include a custom armrest and other hand-fabricated items, which were the crowning jewels of the interior.<\/p>\n

It was nice meeting and talking with Mike at the Wynn this last weekend. I told Mike about this 1967 Corvette 427 435 horse while I was on vacation at the Jersey shore. The gentleman that owned this car, pulled it out of the garage and put a for sale sign on it after completing a 12 year restoration at the time making it an expensive vacation but well worth it. That was until I was taking a vacation at Newport Beach this year; Not too far from Corvette Mike\u2018s in Anaheim. I went over with a friend to look at Corvettes and low and behold. There was a 2006 Ford GT amongst the Corvettes and needless to say, we are enjoying it here in sunny Arizona. My wife says I can\u2019t go on vacation anymore.<\/p>\n
