Callaway Competition Ending C7 GT3 Program
To Focus on Track-Day\u00a0C8\u00a0<\/h2>\n

The longest-serving and most successful racing team in the \u201cSuper Sports Car League\u201d is on-hiatus. After 16 years, temporarily withdrawing from Motorsport. Instead, Callaway Competition will once again turn its focus on improving the performance enhancement and refinement of the C8 Corvette.<\/p>\n

Callaway Competition CEO Ernst W\u00f6hr confirmed the team will dedicate more resources towards developing a unique Callaway C8 Corvette track day special. The news release notes \u201cCallaway Competition will once again focus more on improving the performance enhancement and refinement of Corvette road cars.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Track-Day Callaway C8 Corvette will be road-legal and feature body components and modifications developed by Callaway Competition. The car will be developed in partnership with the company\u2019s long-standing partner, Autohaus Kramm, a Berlin-based dealership specializing in importing American vehicles like the Corvette, Ram TRX, and the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat models.<\/p>\n

Last June, I celebrated 50 years with my 1956 Corvette. It has 67K original miles. It is a 225hp, 2 fours engine, and powerglide. It came with a power top, power windows. windshield washer, brake alarm, AM Wonderbar radio optioned car. It is Cascade Green, shoreline beige coves, shoreline interior. It was featured in Michael Bruce\u2019s \u201cCorvette the Sensuous American\u201d in 1982. When I did the frame off restoration (1975-1976) there were no reproduction parts available. I used NOS or the original parts. It has had the original hub caps since new. Most Corvettes in that era got some type of aftermarket wheels. I am the second owner, and I had the fortune of buying the house next door to the original owner several years after buying the car. It has won many car show awards and the color always brings the people to see it. Don\u2019t ask me what I paid for the car.<\/p>\n
