A handful of C8 owners expecting to pick up their new Vette are about to receive some bad news.<\/p>\n

Videos shared early on Wednesday by Corieblue Fickes to Facebook show what looks to be a truckload of newly built C8-generation Chevrolet Corvettes going up in flames in a parking lot roughly 30 minutes north of Nashville, Tennessee\u2014about an hour and a half south of the car\u2019s Bowling Green, Kentucky assembly plant.<\/p>\n

C8 E-Ray Hybrid Spied Near The Nurburgring<\/p>\n

The Corvette spied has a body that\u2019s nearly identical to the new Z06. The only minor difference is that it has a pair of exhaust pipes squared off at each corner instead of in the center on the new Z06.<\/p>\n

We cannot be sure it is truly a hybrid though, as N\u00fcrburgring requires a special sticker for cars running on the track that are partially, or fully, powered by battery power. As the Vette was only spotted on the street, it is possible\u00a0Chevy is waiting to apply the sticker closer to the track so as not to give anything away to the spy photographers.<\/p>\n

Here is a peak behind the scenes at the Bowling Green production plant in Kentucky USA, where the Right-Hand-Drive C8 is now being proudly built. It\u2019s exciting for the Corvette to be offered as a worldwide product and expand their customer base.<\/p>\n

\n

2022 C8 Changes<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2022 Corvette is now rolling off the assembly line. So, we thought it would be nice to point out the changes this new model year brings.<\/p>\n

New exterior colors for 2022 are: Caffeine Metallic, Hypersonic Gray Metallic, and Amplify Orange Tintcoat.<\/p>\n

Deleted exterior colors are: Zeus Bronze Metallic, Shadow Gray Metallic, and Sebring Orange Tintcoat.<\/p>\n

Gone is also the 5-spoke Performance Pewter-painted aluminum wheels.<\/p>\n

The only interior change is the addition of illuminated door sill plates (dealer-installed).<\/p>\n

There are a few new options available now: Low rear spoiler and front splitter, Black Ground Effects.<\/p>\n

New options that will be available later in the production: Visible Carbon Fiber door intake trim and a high wing spoiler with visible carbon fiber.<\/p>\n

There is also a new IMSA GTLM Championship Edition which is loaded up with options. It comes in a No. 3 edition (Accelerate Yellow body with gray graphics) and a No. 4 edition (Hypersonic Gray body with yellow graphics). Both also come with a matching Custom-fitted indoor car cover depicting the appearance of either the No. 3 or No. 4 Corvette C8.R race car depending on the model.<\/p>\n

Doug Freedman, Founder of the Concours on the Avenue,<\/strong><\/strong>
has Passed Away<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Doug Freedman founded the Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue, a free event that kicks of Monterey Car Week and became one of the must-sees in a long week of must-sees. He was also a past national president of the Ferrari club.<\/p>\n

Freedman, his wife Genie, and along with about 300 volunteers, put on the Concours on the Avenue every year in the streets of the storybook town of Carmel-by-the-Sea. It was always a terrific time with the morning fog rolling away politely almost at Freedman\u2019s behest to reveal blocks and blocks of Porsches, Ferraris, and all kinds of unique and rare cars, all there for the public to see for free. Every year that the show ran, Freedman always said it was the best year ever.<\/p>\n

Freedman passed away October 3, 2021 of a heart attack while attending the Audrain Concours, a car guy to the very end.<\/p>\n
