George Maharis Dead at 94 George Maharis, a stage-trained actor became an icon to American youth in the 1960s as he cruised the country in a Corvette convertible in the hit television series “Route 66,” has died at age 94. On “Route 66,” Maharis played Buz Murdock, a hardened survivor of New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen. 2025 ZR1 Captured in the Wild

The photo spies in Detroit spied several new 2025 Corvette ZR1 prototypes wearing heaving camouflage with Chief Engineer Josh Holder behind the wheel. There were at least four prototypes in both Coupes and Convertibles models. The cars are wearing that heavy black cladding that hides many of the details, but from first glance it appears that the front spoiler is even more aggressive than that on the Z06, but that could just be the covers exaggerating those details. From our friends at Corvette Blogger The  Corvette Blogger attended this year’s National Corvette Museum Bash and came back with some very interesting information. Like previous years, Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles gave a rundown of the production numbers, as well as the most popular colors and options for the 2023 model year. National Council of Corvette Clubs Reverses Ban on C8 E-Ray Hybrid. The National Council of Corvette Clubs had banned all hybrids and EVs from competition. But now, the E-Ray will be allowed. NCCC Competition Bans E-Ray From All Events

The National Council of Corvette Clubs misunderstanding of lithium-ion, leads them to ban “Electric Vehicles/Hybrids using lithium type battery packs” from all events. The new rule also says that “they should be parked 30 feet minimum from structures or other vehicles.” (section 1.8 subsection 1 item 14). This applies to events including “Speed Events” (autocross, drag racing, time trials on road course racetracks, and matching times precise acceleration tests), “Funkhana” (an autocross event with goofy challenges), road rallies, fuel economy challenges, and concourse car shows.
